Keeping track of your job search is a good idea.

It helps you remember which companies you have approached and what their response was (for example, if they tell you they are going to be advertising in 3 months, keeping a record of this will remind you to contact them again).

You can also record which daily local papers advertise jobs, which recruitment agencies you have contacted, when trade journals come out and which friends have provided useful information.

Most businesses are advertising on the internet. You will find that networking sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and twitter are becoming more and more popular.

It is very important for you to keep a track of who has your CV.
