TRADE SALES & PROMOTIONS COORDINATOR – OUTLINE SPECIFICATION

THE ROLE

The appointment of a Trade Sales & Promotions Coordinator is a key part of the ongoing business development strategy for both xxxx and xxxxxx. 

The role is very important to the company and the holder will report directly to the Business Development Director.

Role Overview

The responsibilities of the Trade Sales & Promotions Coordinator will include:

·         To take responsibility for specific Trade & Wholesale accounts as agreed with the Business Development and Sales Directors

·         To assist the external Key Account Manager with the administration of his customers

·         To develop promotions for customers specifically tailored to their market segment

·         To complete and circulate an accurate promotions calendar

·         To proactively manage a number of direct accounts including regular telesales calling to generate orders

·         To liaise with the Sales Administration department to ensure accurate customer on-going and promotion pricing

·         To ensure that all new customer enquiries for the Trade & Wholesale sector are actioned promptly within a 48 hour period from receipt

·         To analyse the effectiveness of promotions and provide summary reporting

·         To attend external trade shows as required

·         To assist the Business Development Director with the sales forecasting process

·         To liaise with internal departments to ensure customer orders are delivered in full and on time

·         To produce a monthly report summarising key sales activity

·         To liaise closely with the Finance team in respect of pricing authorisation

·         To ensure that the Finance team are immediately aware of negotiated price adjustments

·         To take an active role as a key member of the sales and marketing team in the development of sales strategy

·         Other ad hoc assignments as may be required

Candidate Overview

The ideal candidate will come from a background in sales, ideally within FMCD where the main customers were Builders Merchants, Distributors and Wholesalers. The candidate must be a good communicator and be able to analyse data. The candidate will also have experience of developing and managing promotions and working with an external sales team to maximise customer’s sales potential.
