Purchasing Manager



  • I will support the activities of the trading departments by managing both reactive & proactive purchasing in line with company procedure to give best value & service to internal & external customers 
  • I will work to achieve or exceed the milestones put into place through the planning of jobs and will communicate any issues that arise effectively 
  • I will ensure that the paperwork process from control of orders through to filing of delivery notes is efficient and compliant. I will strive to minimise invoice queries to gain productivity 
  • I will actively manage the control of orders so that Job costing is as accurate a real time  projection of the total job cost as is physically possible 
  • I will ensure that purchases for Stock items are transacted in such way is necessary to preserve stock database integrity

 Goods Receipt 

  • I will use the chase report to pro-actively manage the planned delivery of goods to meet project KPI’s. Where changes are found I will check if these impact downstream and communicate or act accordingly 

·           I will review the approval of payments for subcontract works by reviewing on a regular basis with the project engineers to manage potential payment issues or additional works claims

Purchase Ledger 

  • I will regularly review invoices to ensure that any queries are resolved in a timely manner
  • I will ensure that the goods receipt procedures are accurate and pursue traceability in line with quality procedures
  • I will strive to constantly review the number of queries in these areas to streamline the processes to minimise administrative burdens 

 Cost & supplier Management 

  • I will manage the effective record keeping of fully Approved & temporary approved suppliers in line with company procedure 
  • I will influence the purchasing decisions of others within the organisation to consolidate purchasing down the best value route hence balancing transactional costs with lowest purchase cost 
  • I will conduct regular tendering activities to routinely check that all products that we purchase are bought on the best terms possible while balancing the factors of minimising the supply chain and achieving best service levels

 Estimating Support 

  • I will maintain records that will allow the process of pricing common products for estimates as efficiently as possible.
  • I will support any estimating activity by seeking prices on the products or services that they have requested ain line with their targets

  • I will take ownership for problems or issues , and ensure they are resolved and corrected during my working day , or that my colleagues are kept informed on my progress
