Due to recent re-organisations and restructuring within the company and finance department there are three vacancies for operation accountants.

The reorganisation of the company has seen a move away from the unit base to a functional structure. This in turn has been based around the new business areas xxxxx and xxxxx with the new positions arising within the xxxxx division which includes the manufacturing sites Derby, Leeds and Llanelli plus Rugby, Belfast and Jebil Ali.

The new operations department for xxxxx will be focusing on review and analysis to improve business efficiencies and communication to the areas of management relevant. The three roles are not seen as unit based as the department in new time will be based on functional structure allowing economies and specialisation to develop. 

Knowledge and Experience should include : 

-          Product Costing within a Standard Costing regime

-          Understanding of company’s products and business

-          Scrap Reporting – collating and preparing scrap costs and proceeds for presentation to management

-          Working knowledge of fixed assets to enable maintenance of site asset registers

-          Manufacturing variances – from collation to interpretation for presentation to management to enable effective control

-          Understanding of our Freight and Packing cost profile

-          Expenditure control and reporting including Capital and Revenue

-          Stock revaluation process and principles

-          Exposure to stock takes – control and process of physical stock counts

-          Budget preparation

-          Business forecasting

-          Formulising business procedures impacting on Finance and rolling them out effecting necessary changes in processes and culture

-          Exposure to SAP and knowledge of

-          Preparation of accounts for the above and other information to the end of presentation to management.


-          Applicant ideally will be currently studying CIMA up to final stage with a view to qualify in the future and progress through the company

-          Previously held a position of responsibility reporting to upper levels of management.

-          Good project management skills with exposure to project work for the improvement of systems and procedures

-          Applicant must be articulate and accurate and used to working to tight timescales with the ability to prioritise work from diversified sources

-          Proven track record of adapting and driving through improvements and efficiencies in work practices and procedures

-          Well developed computer skills including significant Excel and SAP experience and competence in word
