Responsible to:  Divisional Financial Controller

 

 

Overall Purpose of Job:

 

To lead, drive and manage the XXXX finance function to the timely delivery of accurate information relating the entities financial position and that which can be forecast.

 

 

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  1. Preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts to the deadline issued by the Group FC.
  2. Production of detailed financial forecasts and re-forecasts to include cash flow forecasting.
  3. Daily/weekly monitoring of the company’s cash position and reporting to Group.
  4. Preparation of quarterly VAT calculations for submission to Group.
  5. Set, monitor and appraise KPI’s relating to staff performance.
  6. Assist with the production of investment and expenditure appraisals.
  7. Assist the work of both the internal and external auditors.
  8. Draft Corporation Tax computations for incorporation into group payment calculations.
  9. Liaise with Senior Managers/Directors to communicate financial and non financial information relating to the company’s activities.
  10. Provide commentary on the company’s results to aid the Divisional Financial Controller with the monthly financial report.
  11. Balance sheet control.
  12. Preparation of year end financial statements and audit file for presentation to the auditors.
  13. Adhoc reporting and analysis as requested by Line Manager and Senior Management / Directors.
  14. Contribute to the sharing of good practice and support continuous improvement throughout the Company.
  15. Promote a positive image of the Company and all of the services it delivers.
  16. Actively contribute to maintenance of a professional and welcoming environment within all our centres.
  17. Any other duties reasonably requested by the line manager.

 

  

 

SUMMARY: Strong financial accounting background essential with ability to present accurate and timely information both historic and predictive.  Must be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills, as will be required to appraise the planning of the business. Strong communication skills a must as will be required to influence decisions made by Business Managers and the Board.  Man management and inter-personal skills also required.

Substantial post qualification experience

B. Experience

 

Financial Accounting background preferably with some time in private practice.

 

Control of a Finance Function including financial reporting.

 

Budgeting and forecasting.                                

 

Company returns including VAT and payroll returns.

 

IT Literate including use of Microsoft Office products.

 

Staff supervisory experience.

 

Strong understanding of accounting software
